One goal for 2010's event is to bridge the gap for the next generation of women in hip hop.Sohipotome 2010 will be featuring the Building A Better You (B.A.B.Y.) Program. (B.A.B.Y.) is based in Durham, NC and is a personal development, life skills and fashion program for preteen and teenage girls. The mission of the program is to empower the girls to become focused, driven and confident. The organization's website is www.buildingabetteryou2.com.
Sharon Decoster (founder of B.A.B.Y.) and Sohipotome are presenting a day time event on the same day as the Sohipotome Honors & Concert (March 13). During the daytime event there will be workshops, an entertainment panel geared towards young people and their parents, and a fashion and talent showcase.
